Dear Doily

Hello Stampers,

Today I am sharing a very quick and easy card using the doily stamp from the Dear Doily set.

I randomly stamped the doily in Calypso Coral.  Die cut at least 3 of the word thanks out of the Basic Black layer.  I like to die cut 3-5 to give the words a little more lift.

To get the speckles on the background you just take the Calypso Coral Marker and flick it against the lid.  It's an easy way to get just a few speckles on a background with any color.

Emboss with the Subtly embossing folder. and attach ribbon to front layer and attach all layers.

I told you quick and easy!

Happy Birthday Paper Pumpkin!

Hello Stampers,

Are you a Paper Pumpkin subscriber?  If you answered no, then here is a great reason to sign up now.

You can earn free products with your subscription.

3-  month subscription you can get 1 level 1 SAB item.
6 - month subscription you can get 2 level 1 or 1 level 2 SAB item.
12 - month Subscription you can get 4 level 1 or 2 level 2 SAB items.

OK, so I have to admit, I am way behind on my Paper Pumpkin boxes.  But my goal is to start doing them every month and to share my alternative projects with you.

So..here is what I spent this past weekend doing.  Some alternatives you can make with the Feb. Paper Pumpkin Kit.

This is actually a bag, but I forgot to go back and take a different picture.  I will try and get a new one posted.

This kit would make a total of 9 cards if you made them exactly as they show.  I altered all of mine and added a little extra card stock and made 12 cards and 1 bag.  I had 2 pieces of vellum and several banners left over.

What shall I do with all these cards.  If you are a current Paper Pumpkin subscriber with me you will receive a card in the mail.  So...if you would like to receive some snail mail with an alternative card then now is the time to sign up for Paper Pumpkin.

Remember if you decide to do the the 6 or 12 month subscription you could add a little extra and earn Stampin' Rewards with it.  A win win for free stuff!

Here is a short video on how to do the projects as described in the kit.

Watercolor Magic

Hello Stampers,

Today I want to share 4 cards I made when I was playing with watercolor again.  I also used the positive and negative trellis looking die cut that comes in the Climbing Rose Bundle.

I had a hard time taking pictures of these cards, I first tried the white background and they looked all washed out, so I went with the black.

I first took my craft mat and stamped down some Petal Pink and Basic Gray Ink.  Spritzed with the Water and Shimmer Paint mixture. I did this with several pieces of Shimmer White.  I wanted to die cut the trellis of those pieces and use a couple of them for the back ground.

The one thing I forgot to do when I was die cutting the trellis was use the Multipurpose Adhesive Sheets.  It would have made it much easier to attach.  One card has the positive shape and the other has the negative.  How do you save all those little pieces. After you die cut the piece and before you pull it all apart, take a piece of Press n Seal on top.  This will hold all theses pieces in the right position for you to attach to another card. Now it took me longer to do this, because I had to add a little bit of Mono glue to each one.

I randomly stamped the background with the splatter stamp and the bokeh stamp from the Beauty Abounds with Petal Pink and Basic Gray Ink.

This one I used the trellis as a stencil and sponged randomly on the back ground.

The Birthday Wishes stamp and the punch are bothe new and will be available on March 1st.

The butterflies were die cut out of a piece of Basic Gray and then cut apart and topped with Wink of Stella.

I embossed the background and the rectangle with the Subtle Embossing folder.  I now you can't tell in the picture.  It is so hard to get that folder show up in photos.

I hope this gives you some ideas on how to use the positive and negative shapes with your die cuts.
