Friend Like You

Wow, July has been a very busy month for me.  I am not sure where all the weekends have gone.  We have had a wedding, going away parties and moving our youngest son to Missoula, MT with his fiance.  Trying to get a few crafting things done before we leave on our "glamping" trip down to the Washington and Oregon Coast.

Today I wanted to share the negative and positive effect using the Palm Tree die from the Friend Like You bundle.

For this card I used a piece of the See of Silhouette DSP as my background.

I die cut the palm tree from a piece of Basic Black.  Instead of poking all those little pieces out of the die cut, take a piece of Press-n-Seal and press it on top of the palm tree.  Make sure you pick up all the pieces.

Emboss the  piece of Basic Black with the Subtle Embossing Folder. I colored the ribbon with a combination of Real Red and Pumpkin Pie Stampin' Blends.  Attach ribbon and all layers.  I know can you believe no stamping on this card.

Now, what did I do with the piece I took off with the Press-n-Seal?

On a piece of Shimmery White I used my blending brushes and Crushed Curry, Mango Melody, Flirty Flamingo and Poppy Parade ink to create the background.

Take the palm tress you have on the piece of Press-n-Seal and add 2-way glue or Mono Glue to the back and then attach it to the background piece you just sponged. Randomly stamp the dragonflies in Memento Ink.
