Definitely Dahlia

Saying good by to Definitely Dahlia.  Yes sad to say this one is going away.  This has been such a great stamp to use all on it's own.  You really don't need anything else with it.  I will miss this one, but along with saying good by to some also means saying hello to some new ones.

I will be posting a few sneak peeks in the next few weeks.

I used the shaving cream techniques to make the background for this.  You can find details on how to do this background here.  For this one I used the "B" block, but you could use any size, or different sizes if you wanted.  Start with So Saffron, Pool Party and then Marina Mist.

Stamp the Dahlia and the words with Basic Black (also leaving us).

I colored the ribbon with the Light Daffodil Delight Stampin' Blends.

Happy Wishes

Hello,

Today I am sharing another card with the Brusho Crystals and Saving Cream.

  • On your "B" block spray on a layer of shaving cream. Take your Marina Mist Refill and put about 4-5 dots on top of the shaving cream.
  • Flip it over and drag it across the watercolor paper, until you get the look you want.  You can always go back and repeat this step if you are not happy with the look.
  • Stamp phrase with Dapper Denim.
  • Attach Dapper Denim ribbon.
  • Assemble and add bling.

Keep in mind, even if you follow this exactly like I explained, you will end up with a different look.  That's what is nice about doing techniques like this.  They can all be similar, but yet turn out so different.

Shaving Cream Technique

Last monthly club I had decided it was time to do the Shaving Cream Technique again.  It had been many years since I had played with this technique.

Although I did not take pictures of the step by step process you can find several out on pinterest.  Basically..spray some shaving cream on a paper plate, drop a few drops of re-inkers, swirl it all around & lay down a piece of watercolor paper.

You can use several pieces of watercolor paper on one use.  It just starts to get a little bit lighter in color.

You can see each one is a little different.  That is what makes it so unique.

As you can see with the last one I started adding a little bit of So Saffron but the marbling affect was getting lighter & lighter.

Can't wait to play with this again.

Hope you enjoyed,

Happy Stampin',

Debbie
