Beautiful Blizzard

Happy Thursday...Friday is almost here!!  Do you have all your Christmas shopping done?  I have to say I am almost finished.  Just need to find a few more items for the stockings.

Today all my Christmas cards are going out in the mail.  I had planned on getting them out on Monday, but that didn't work.

Because my down line has seen most of my cards, I made them something a little different.  Hopefully they don't read this first.

I had several snowflakes that had been cut from the Blizzard Thinlits Die, so I based my colors on what I had, so I could use them up.  I made three different color combos out of the same card design.

Balmy Blue

Real Red

I used the embossing mat and the Blizzard Thinlits Die to emboss the background on a piece of Shimmery White paper. Now if you have this embossing and are not sure how to use it.  I will post a video below that will show you exactly what to do. Also...if you look at the back of the paper work that comes with the embossing mat, it gives you all the combinations for cutting.

Sponge the background with the appropriate color.  Add a piece of White Polka Dot Tulle Ribbon and attach to all layers.  Stamp phrase in appropriate color and die cut with Layering Circles.  Die cut layer with the Stitched Framelits Circle.

Some the snowflakes were cut from Glimmer Paper, and some were cut from card stock.  The ones from card stock I added Wink of Stella on top.

Add a few Rhinestones and walah!  You are finished.

Joyous Noel Gift Card Holder

Today I wanted to share a gift card holder.  I am always trying to find new ways to give a gift card.  Sometimes I will alter boxes or bags I see on pinterest so that a gift card will fit in it.

It's so tiny and petite it's hard to believe that it actually holds a gift card.  But it does!

Take a piece of 4 1/2" x 8 1/4" Merry Merlot and score on the long side at 2', 4 1/4", 4 3/8" and 6 1/2".  On the short side score 1/2" and 4.  On both sides cut way the 1/2" strip down to the 6 1/2" mark.  Angel the ends on the tabs.  Burnish all folds.  Put Tear N Tape on the outside of the tabs and fold them in and then fold up to make the pocket.

Now you can decorate all the pieces and the Belly Band.  Here is a list of the bits and pieces to decorate.

5- 1 3/4" x 5" Whisper White
3- 1 1/2" x 3 Joyous Noel DSP
1 - 1 1/2" x 6" Whisper White
1 - 1 1/4" x 6 Joyous Noel DSP
Whisper White Scrap to punch tag and a couple snowflakes left over from another project.

Stamp the greeting and the snowflake in Merry Merlot and punch out with the Pretty Label Punch.  Sponge around the label with Merry Merlot.

Attach all Layers.  The back piece is the only one that does not have any layers on it.

I had a couple snowflakes left over from a previous project.  These were cut from the new Blizzard Thinlits Die out of the Joyous Noel Glimmer paper and Copper Foil.  I added a Pearl in the center.

Beautiful Blizzard

I love snowflakes, so anytime Stampin' Up comes out with anything to do with snowflakes, most likely I will buy it.  But...after getting this set I have to say I struggled for a while just trying to figure out what I wanted to do with it.

Here is one very simple card I came up with. On a piece of 3 3/4" x 5 Shimmery paper randomly stamp snowflakes and greeting in Blueberry Bushel.

Take a piece of Sparkle Glimmer Paper die cut with the Blizzards Thinlits Die.  Save that piece of Glimmer Paper, it makes a great card!

Attach a piece of Blueberry Bliss Ribbon (I forgot the bow piece) Take 3 snowflakes sponge the top with a little bit of Blueberry Bushel ink and  attach with glue dots. Color 3 Clear Rhinestones with the Night of Navy Stampin' Blends and attach in center.  Yes, I used Night of Navy and it goes very well with the Blueberry Bushel.
