Eclectic Expressions

Hello Crafters,

Today I am sharing the card I made for the shoe box card exchange for my down line meeting.  I had wanted to use the new Eclectic Expressions (free with $50.00 before S&T) and Washi Tape I had bought when the new catalog came out in June.  Time to use it before it goes away.

On Shimmery White randomly stamp the small and large splotches with Pool Party, Dapper Denim and So Saffron.  Stamp larger rain like splatters in Dapper Denim and the smaller ones in So Saffron.  Add 3 strips of Washi Tape.  With Pool Party Spritzer, spritz a little piece of Cheese Cloth, set this aside to dry.

In Pool Party stamp flower from Birthday Blossoms on Shimmery White and Pool Party and punch out.  Die cut 2 squares out of a piece of scrap Shimmery White. Color the Whisper White Organza Ribbon  with Pool Party Stampin' Blends or you could also spritz this at the same time you spritzed the Cheese Cloth.

Now you can assemble all the layers.  Color the pearls with the Pool Party Stampin' Blends.

Retiform Techniques

Today I wanted to share a new technique, well new to me.  I have seen this technique all over pinterest, and decided to give it a try.

I am not sure how, or why it is called "Retiform", to me it's more like a collage.

After making one card of course I had to try several others.  This one I used Lemon Lime Twist, Old Olive, So Saffron and stamped with Early Espresso.

I added just a little bling to top it off.

This one I used Old Olive and So Saffron for the sponging, and stamped with Early Espresso, Calypso Coral and Old Olive.

Added just a little Early Espresso Ribbon(retired).

As I was working on these I glanced down at a stack of Christmas stamps and the Beachy Little Christmas was staring at me.  I had not used this stamp set yet, and was struggle with what to do with it.

I have to say I like how it turned out.  I used Pool Party, Bermuda Bay and Smokey Slat for the sponging and stamped with Basic Gray.

As far as instructions on how to do this technique you can find several different videos on pintrest or youtube. I did use the small sticky notes to mask off, but the larger ones would work better.  I also used a dauber to get the crisp edge around each section.  I thought it worked better then the sponges for that part.
