Waterfront and Lovely as a Tree

For today's post I wanted to share a masculine card.  My down line meeting is on Tuesday and our theme was Birthday/Masculine.  Masculine cards are always a little more difficult to make.  I combined the new Watercolor Wishes with an old favorite - Lovely as a Tree.

On Very Vanilla, stamp the mountains with Sahara Sand. Make sure you stamp two or three times before inking up the stamp again, so you get the full effect of the mountain range.

Stamp the trees and the sentiment  with Early Espresso.  Attach Linen thread and attach to Early Espresso.

I also want to send out a quick reminder about the Stampin' Palooza! Stampin' Palooza is an all-day stamping event I put with my down line.  So, if you live anywhere near Arlington, WA, come check it out.  This is our one-year anniversary of the Stampin' Palooza and we have some extra surprises in the works for all our customers.  You can find all the details here.

I hope you enjoyed today's project, and if you have any questions please let me know.

Waterfront with Black Ice

I finally got around to playing with the new technique out their call Black Ice.  Melissa Kerman @ thecraftingtreehouse has a great video on how to do this.  I think there is a little bit of a learning curve to get the whole affect from the Versa Mark but with a little practice (on scrap pieces) you will have in figured out in no time.

With the Black Archival stamp pad, drag it across the piece of Marina Mist and the Silver Foil piece, to get the black streak  marks.  Then on the silver foil piece stamp your image.  On this card I stamped the mountains and trees from Waterfront stamp set.

Dry with an embossing gun.  Now you need to drag the Versa Mark Ink pad across the stamped image.(at an angel) Remember you don't want a smooth effect at the end . Cover the whole thing with clear embossing powder and emboss.

Don't be discouraged if you end up with a smooth effect,  It happened to me a couple times.  Practice makes perfect with some techniques.

I had so much fun with this technique I had to share it at my down line meeting.  They all seemed to really like it.  I will be sharing some more ideas with this technique, so check back.

Hope you enjoyed today's post, let me know if you have any questions.

Painted with Love DSP (my own version)

Hello Crafters,

Today I wanted to share my own version of Painted with Love Dsp.  A few weeks ago I saw a post on facebook from Kim Jolly @ Stampin Artfully and she had designed her own version of Painted with Love DSP.  I decided to give it a try at my Down line meeting.

Now I'm not sure how she did her's, but this is what I came up with.  I used the basic stamps from the Waterfront set and randomly stamped a couple rows, then blended with an Aqua Painter.  I used Soft Sky, Pool Party, Marina Mist & Island Indigo.

On this one I also spritzed a little Peekaboo Peach on the background.  When you are satisfied with your background, dry with your heat gun.  Now you can take the same stamps and stamp randomly with Versa Mark and emboss with Silver Embossing Powder.

Stamped words with Basic Black Ink.

As you can see each one turns out a little different.  I had actually cut this one in four pieces, but ended up adding ribbon so you can't see the other cut. I also spritzed this one with the Peekaboo Spritzer.

I tried both watercolor paper and Shimmery Paper.  You don't really notice that much of a difference between the two, except for the shimmery background.

Thanks Kim for the idea!  Hope you all give this try.  Just another way to make your own background paper.

I also wanted to share the new Sale-a-Bration items available until March 31st 2018.
