Definitely Dahlia

Saying good by to Definitely Dahlia.  Yes sad to say this one is going away.  This has been such a great stamp to use all on it's own.  You really don't need anything else with it.  I will miss this one, but along with saying good by to some also means saying hello to some new ones.

I will be posting a few sneak peeks in the next few weeks.

I used the shaving cream techniques to make the background for this.  You can find details on how to do this background here.  For this one I used the "B" block, but you could use any size, or different sizes if you wanted.  Start with So Saffron, Pool Party and then Marina Mist.

Stamp the Dahlia and the words with Basic Black (also leaving us).

I colored the ribbon with the Light Daffodil Delight Stampin' Blends.

Black Ice with Amazing You

I have been playing with the Black Ice technique lately and decided to try it with out using Foil paper.  Now unfortunately the Amazing You set was a celebration set and is no longer available, but I still have been playing with it.  It would be nice to see it carry over into the new catalog.

I took a piece of Basic Gray card stock and drug the Basic Black across it to make the streaks just like with the Foil paper.  Remember to keep it at an angel. Then stamped the flower with Basic Black and colored with Night of Navy Stampin' Blends and stamped the phrase with Basic Black.

Now you drag Versa mark across (at an angel) and emboss with clear embossing powder.  Cut into 3 pieces and attach to a piece of Whisper White.  Add ribbon and attach to Night of Navy and then to Basic Gray.

Here is a link to the Original Black Ice, you will also find a link to Melissa Kerman who has a great video on how to do this technique.
